The self-aligning property,
limit speed and lubrication of the
conveyor roller bearing
As for the self-aligning property, the conveyor roller bearing
could still work if the centre line of the axis inclines. Spherical roller
bearing and Self-aligning ball bearing have good property of self-aligning.
Limit speed of the conveyor roller bearing means the
highest speed of it with a certain load and lubrication environment. Limit
speed of the conveyor roller bearing is related with its size, precision,
clearance, retainer, load and cooling condition. Normally, the rotate speed
when the conveyor roller bearing is running should be lower than its limit
speed. We could enhance the limit speed of the conveyor roller bearing by
choosing high precision bearing, improving the structure and material of the
retainer, using the lubrication method of oil mist, improving cooling condition
and so on.
The lubrication methods of the conveyor roller bearing are mainly
classified as grease and oil. As for grease lubrication, the advantages are: it
is not easy to leak; it is easier to seal; have long service time; it is
convenient to maintain; the intensity of the oil is high. But it has a stronger
friction, so it is not suitable for high speed condition. The oil lubrication
has better cooling effect, but the seal is bad, and it needs complex oil
device. We must choose high viscosity oil when the working temperature of the
conveyor roller bearing is high, and low viscosity oil when the rotate speed is
high.
Modern machines and equipments are developing to the aspect of
high speed, heavy load, high precision, light and handy. This has raised some
new requirements for the conveyor roller bearing, such as keeping or even
enhancing the load when shortening the size of the conveyor roller bearing.
