Lubrication has a very important effect on the lifetime of the conveyor roller bearing.
1. How to select the lubrication grease?
Here we simply introduce the way to select the lubrication grease for you. The lubrication grease is made of base oil, thickener and additive, it has great difference of feature for different types of lubrication greases, and they call different rotate speed, so we must notice that during the selection.
The feature of lubrication is maimly determained by the base oil. Generally speaking, the base oil of low viscosity is used in the environment of low temprature and high speed, while the high viscosity in the environment of high temprature and high load. The water tolerance of thickener determines the water tolerance of the lubrication grease. In principle, different types of lubrication greases cannot be mixed. And for more, it would have different effects on the conveyor roller bearing for using different additives even the thickener is same.
2. Is it necessary to wash the conveyor roller bearing before the instalation?
The conveyor roller bearing is smeared with slushing oil on its surface, we must wash it with clean petrol or kerosene, and then smear clean lubrication grease to use it. It has a great effect on the lifetime and noise of the conveyor roller bearing that whether the component is clean. But the all-sealed conveyor roller bearing does not need to be washed and add oil.
3. How to instal and remove the conveyor roller bearing?
We could not knock the surface of the conveyor roller bearing directly while instalation. We should do it with proffesional installing tools to make the conveyor roller bearing holding uniform pressure, it will be more smooth for the instalation if the surface of component is smeared with lubrication grease. Or we can put the conveyor roller bearing into the mineral oil to heat it to 80-90 degrees, and then instal it immediately. We must donot make the temprature exceed 100 degrees.
If you get into trouble while removing the conveyor roller bearing, we suggest you put hot oil onto the inner ring of it, that would make the inner ring swell.
