The manufacturing technique of
the conveyor
idler bearing
It is very precise for the
manufacture of the conveyor idler bearing, even a small error would result in the
failure of manufacture of the conveyor idler bearing. We could summarize some
points in the manufacture of the conveyor idler bearing as follow:
1. Follow-up work after welding
This is the last work of the
conveyor idler bearing´s welding. It may cause volume
stress if it is inconsistent of the cooling speed between the surface and inner
side of the conveyor idler bearing, so we must control the cooling speed. We
must keep for some time when the conveyor idler bearing has been cooled to 100
degrees, and we do not need to control the cooling speed if the temperature is
below 50 degrees. In order to eliminate the volume stress entirely, the conveyor
idler bearing must be tempered, the temperature of tempering is
generally controlled between 450 and 600 degrees. If the tempering temperature
is too high, the hardness of the conveyor idler bearing would be lowered. So we must control the tempering temperature not only to
ensure the hardness of the conveyor idler bearing but also to eliminate the
volume stress entirely.
2. We must make some rough
machining to the conveyor idler bearing before welding to eliminate
the defects on its surface, especially the crack, must be eliminated entirely.
We must make ultrasonic flaw detection to the conveyor idler bearing if it has
been welded for several times, and make the welding only when we could confirm
that there has been no crack.
3. Welding is the key point of
the manufacture. We must notice some certain factors in order to obtain perfect
components, such as welding voltage, welding speed, rotate speed, welding
electricity, welding material and so on.
