The methods to judge whether
the lubrication grease of the
conveyor idler bearing has
metamorphosed
The lubrication grease is very important while the conveyor idler
bearing is working. If the lubrication grease has metamorphosed, not only it
could not play the role, but also it would damage the conveyor idler bearing.
There are some methods to judge whether the lubrication grease has
metamorphosed.
1. Drip some drops of the lubrication grease onto a piece of clean
and white filter paper, after the lubrication grease leaks, if it appears some
black powder on the surface, and we feel astringent when touching it, it shows
that there are some impurities in the lubrication grease. Good lubrication
grease does not have powder, and we will feel smooth when touching it.
2. Two measuring glass: one with the lubrication grease waited to
be tested in it, the other glass is empty on the desk. Raise up the glass with lubrication
grease and pour the lubrication grease slowly into the empty glass, observe
the flow condition of the lubrication grease during the pouring process, the
flow of good lubrication grease must be uniform, threadlike and continuous. If
the flow is sometimes fast and sometimes slow, and there is big block of the
lubrication grease flowing down, it shows the lubrication grease has metamorphosed.
3. In a sunny day, raise up the lubrication grease with
screwdriver to make it face the sunshine, we observe the drops of the
lubrication grease, and we could see clearly under the sunshine whether there
are scraps in the lubrication grease, if there is no scrap, the lubrication
grease could continue to be used; and if there are scraps, we should change the
lubrication grease.
4. Grind the lubrication grease with our fingers, we would feel
smooth, few scraps and little friction for good lubrication grease; and if we
feel strong friction, it shows there are impurities in the lubrication grease,
so we should change it.
