Factors for the corrosion to
the spherical roller bearing
The corrosion of the spherical roller bearing is caused by many
internal and external factors as follows:
1. The chemical element and structure of the metal material
itself;
2. The degree of finish of the metal surface;
3. The element and pH value of the liquor which contacts with the spherical
roller bearing;
4. The environment temperature and humidity;
5. Various environmental media that contacts with the spherical
roller bearing.
The sweat of the human being is a kind of salty, colorless and
transparent liquid which shows faintly acid, and its pH value is among 5 to 6.
The sweat includes not only the elements of Na, Ka, Ca and Mg, but also a few
organic acids such as urea, lactic acid and citric acid. So when the sweat
contacts with the spherical roller bearing, it would form a layer of sweat
membrane on its surface, and the sweat membrane would corrode the spherical roller bearing. It is unavoidable for man to
sweat, so we must prevent the sweat from corroding the spherical roller bearing,
and we require the production personnel wear gloves or professional tools to
operate the spherical roller bearing.
We should wash the spherical roller bearing according to the
condition and environment to choose proper method. We could use the dry compressed
air or dryer to dry the spherical roller bearing after the wash, and of course, we could also use clean gauze to do the drying.
We could soak the spherical roller bearing into
the antirust grease to make it adhere a layer of the antirust grease. The
thickness of the grease could be controlled by adjusting the temperature or
viscosity of it. For some big size spherical roller bearing, we could not use
the soaking method, we usually spray the antirust grease to the spherical
roller bearing with the compressed air. As to this method, we must adopt thorough
fireproof measure to ensure the safety of the production personnel and the
spherical roller bearing.
